How Ohana Boat Sales Began
Roth and Russell Schoepf gained an appreciation for boating as children, when they spent many happy days on their uncle’s boat. Their appreciation for boating was part of the reason they started Ohana Boat Sales in the community of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. They noticed a need for a locally-based boat brokerage and dealership to offer Hawaii residents an alternative to large corporate dealerships. Ohana Boat Sales grew out of that observation. Not only does it provide a concierge-style, customer-focused experience for boat buyers and sellers, Ohana Boat Sales is also the only authorized Blackfin dealer in Hawaii. Blackfin’s award-winning fishing boats are known for their superior quality and durability, characteristics that genuinely set them apart.
Ohana Boat Sales is the sister company of Hawaii Boat Clubs, a membership-based boating club that allows people to enjoy boating without the responsibilities of boat ownership. The two companies were designed to be complementary—whether you want to buy a boat or only use one for the day, we provide a first-class experience.

Roth and Russell Schoepf are ocean enthusiasts who love being out on the water. Roth is a scuba divemaster, an AIDA freediver, and an experienced spear fisherman. He brings more than 20 years of sales, retail, and hospitality experience to Hawaii Boat Clubs. Russell has logged many hours boating and fishing. He has a background in management and customer service.
